HOT TUB WATER TESTING

KEEP YOUR WATER
CLEAN ALL YEAR ROUND

Regular testing is an essential part of maintaining the health of your hot tub and protecting your family. Properly balanced water helps keep your spa clean, protects your equipment, and extends the life of your hot tub.

6 Reasons to get your water tested!

Water testing is crucial for maintaining a safe and enjoyable hot tub.
Here are several reasons highlighting the importance of regularly testing your hot tub water:

Balancing Chemical Levels

Hot tub water needs the right balance of pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, and sanitizer to stay safe and comfortable for soaking.

Sanitation

Warm water is an ideal environment for bacteria. Testing ensures your sanitizer levels are always adequate to keep the water safe.

Water Clarity

Cloudy or foamy water signals a chemical imbalance. Regular testing keeps your water sparkling clear and inviting.

Equipment Protection

Imbalanced water corrodes jets, heaters, and pumps over time. Proper chemistry extends the life of your investment.

Preventing Biofilm & Scale

Calcium scale and biofilm build up when water is out of balance. Testing helps you catch problems before they become costly.

Cost Savings

Catching issues early reduces chemical waste, prevents service calls, and extends the lifespan of your hot tub.

How to collect a water sample

The important factors to consider are the location from which you take the sample and the method used to obtain it. Ideally, collect the sample from the center of your hot tub. Avoid sampling near the surface or any return jets. Sample bottles can be picked up in the store.

  • 1 Use a clean cup or bottle (with a cap if you’re taking it to the store).
  • 2 Hold it upside down in the center of the hot tub (about 18 inches). Turn it upright to fill, avoiding surface water and return jets to ensure accuracy.
  • 3 Cap the bottle, shake off excess water, and test immediately
